We invite you to the presentation of Zvonimir Stopić’s book “Revolutionaries, revisionists, dogmatists, dogs and lunatics, China and Yugoslavia from 1948 to 1971.” which will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in the premises of the Confucius Institute of the University of Zagreb, Savska 25 (2nd floor of the Student Center). Damir Agičić, Tvrtko Jakovina, Krešimir Jurak and Zvonimir Stopić will participate in the presentation of the book.
About the author: Zvonimir Stopić (左立明) was born on February 9, 1983 in Zagreb. He completed history and philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. He trained at the University of Ljubljana as a beneficiary of the Erasmus+ program, at the University of Language and Culture in Beijing (北京语言大学) and the Luxembourg School of Business (LSB). He received his doctorate in 2018 from Capital Normal University (首都师范大学) in Beijing. He is the author of the book Revolutionaries, revisionists, dogmatists, dogs and lunatics: China and Yugoslavia from 1948 to 1971 (2022). Since 2015, he has been working as the assistant director of the Center for the Study of Civilizations (文明区即研究中心) of Capital Normal University in Beijing, and since 2019 he has been employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Global History of Capital Normal University. In Croatia, he collaborates with the Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZŠEM), where he teaches about China and Asia and coordinates the CroaAsia Institute. Zvonimir is also an associate of the China-CEE Institute (中国—中东欧研究院). In his research, he deals with Sino-Yugoslav relations, the so-called The “Third World”, Cold War diplomacy, the region of Southeast Europe, and contemporary international relations that include China.
