Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović joins ZSEM

The former President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is joining the Zagreb School of Economics and Management as a Special Advisor to the Dean for International projects. Kolinda Grabar- Kitarović will support ZSEM’s ambition to further expand international cooperation and even more active engagement in international projects. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is a member of the International Olympic Committee, and will therefore actively participate in our new Erasmus project led by ZSEM. The international consortium includes two of the most elite European institutions, Stockholm School of Economics and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, and four Olympic Committees from the region.

We are excited to cooperate on numerous projects and opportunities for our students who will be able to learn from the rich and valuable experience of Kolinda Grabar – Kitarović.

It is common in the world for former presidents to get involved in the field of education after the end of their political careers, and I am glad that I was given such an opportunity. The way ZSEM works and ambitions for further development and international positioning have opened space for our cooperation. It starts with a project related to sports and ZSEM’s desire to position itself as a regional centre for athlete education in the future. It is known that they are ending sports careers relatively young and very often do not have adequate skills and knowledge that would enable them to develop equally successful business careers. Hence, their potentials often remain underutilized, which is a missed opportunity for them as individuals and for the community,” pointed out Grabar-Kitarović.
