US Fullbright Scholar Visits ZSEM

Earlier this month, ZSEM was pleased to welcome professor Matt Lee, PhD from James Madison University (USA). Professor Lee held a guest lecture for ZSEM’s Business Communication class, taught by professor Ivana Bušljeta Banks, PhD. After spending 2016-2017 in Croatia as a recipient of the William J. Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board Grant, professor Lee wishes to maintain his connections to Croatia by helping develop better links between the United States of America and Croatia in the area of academia. During his visit, Lee and ZSEM representatives discussed opportunities for him to teach a course within ZSEM’s Summer School program as well as teaching a faculty-led study abroad course (as part of ZSEM’s tailor-made programs) in the near future.

Lee earned his doctorate degree in Clinical/Community Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Department of Psychology. His research interests include:

  • Psychological effects of cultural, racial, and ethnic minority status
  • Effects of diversity coursework and extracurricular programming
  • Influence of phenotype on individual-level well-being
  • Racial climate and intergroup relations
